Surah Ibrahim · Ayah 9

Alam yaatikum naba'ul lazeena min qablikum qawmi Noohinw wa 'Aadinw wa Samood, wallazeena mim ba'dihim; laa ya'lamuhum illallaah; jaaa'at hum Rusuluhum bilbaiyinaati faraddooo aydiyahum feee afwaahihim wa qaalooo innaa kafarnaa bimaaa ursiltum bihee wa innaa lafee shakkim mimmaa tad'oonanaaa ilaihi mureeb

“Hath not the history of those before you reached you: the folk of Noah, and (the tribes of) A'ad and Thamud, and those after them? None save Allah knoweth them. Their messengers came unto them with clear proofs, but they thrust their hands into their mouths, and said: Lo! we disbelieve in that wherewith ye have been sent, and lo! we are in grave doubt concerning that to which ye call us.”

“Has not the story reached you, (O people!), of those who (went) before you? - of the people of Noah, and 'Ad, and Thamud? - And of those who (came) after them? None knows them but Allah. To them came messengers with Clear (Signs); but they put their hands up to their mouths, and said: "We do deny (the mission) on which ye have been sent, and we are really in suspicious (disquieting) doubt as to that to which ye invite us."”

“Has there not reached you the news of those before you - the people of Noah and 'Aad and Thamud and those after them? No one knows them but Allah. Their messengers brought them clear proofs, but they returned their hands to their mouths and said, "Indeed, we disbelieve in that with which you have been sent, and indeed we are, about that to which you invite us, in disquieting doubt."”

“তোমাদের কাছে কি তোমাদের পূর্ববর্তী কওমে নূহ, আদ ও সামুদের এবং তাদের পরবর্তীদের খবর পৌছেনি? তাদের বিষয়ে আল্লাহ ছাড়া আর কেউ জানে না। তাদের কাছে তাদের পয়গম্বর প্রমানাদি নিয়ে আগমন করেন। অতঃপর তারা নিজেদের হাত নিজেদের মুখে রেখে দিয়েছে এবং বলেছে, যা কিছু সহ তোমাদেরকে প্রেরণ করা হয়েছে, আমরা তা মানি না এবং যে পথের দিকে তোমরা আমাদেরকে দাওয়াত দাও, সে সম্পর্কে আমাদের মনে সন্দেহ আছে, যা আমাদেরকে উৎকন্ঠায় ফেলে রেখেছে।”

“بھلا تم کو ان لوگوں (کے حالات) کی خبر نہیں پہنچی جو تم سے پہلے تھے (یعنی) نوح اور عاد اور ثمود کی قوم۔ اور جو ان کے بعد تھے۔ جن کا علم خدا کے سوا کسی کو نہیں (جب) ان کے پاس پیغمبر نشانیاں لے کر آئے تو انہوں نے اپنے ہاتھ ان کے مونہوں پر رکھ دیئے (کہ خاموش رہو) اور کہنے لگے کہ ہم تو تمہاری رسالت کو تسلیم نہیں کرتے اور جس چیز کی طرف تم ہمیں بلاتے ہو ہم اس سے قوی شک میں ہیں”
