Surah Al-Baqarah · Ayah 185

“The month of Ramadan in which was revealed the Qur'an, a guidance for mankind, and clear proofs of the guidance, and the Criterion (of right and wrong). And whosoever of you is present, let him fast the month, and whosoever of you is sick or on a journey, (let him fast the same) number of other days. Allah desireth for you ease; He desireth not hardship for you; and (He desireth) that ye should complete the period, and that ye should magnify Allah for having guided you, and that peradventure ye may be thankful.”

“Ramadhan is the (month) in which was sent down the Qur'an, as a guide to mankind, also clear (Signs) for guidance and judgment (Between right and wrong). So every one of you who is present (at his home) during that month should spend it in fasting, but if any one is ill, or on a journey, the prescribed period (Should be made up) by days later. Allah intends every facility for you; He does not want to put to difficulties. (He wants you) to complete the prescribed period, and to glorify Him in that He has guided you; and perchance ye shall be grateful.”

“The month of Ramadhan [is that] in which was revealed the Qur'an, a guidance for the people and clear proofs of guidance and criterion. So whoever sights [the new moon of] the month, let him fast it; and whoever is ill or on a journey - then an equal number of other days. Allah intends for you ease and does not intend for you hardship and [wants] for you to complete the period and to glorify Allah for that [to] which He has guided you; and perhaps you will be grateful.”

“রমযান মাসই হল সে মাস, যাতে নাযিল করা হয়েছে কোরআন, যা মানুষের জন্য হেদায়েত এবং সত্যপথ যাত্রীদের জন্য সুষ্পষ্ট পথ নির্দেশ আর ন্যায় ও অন্যায়ের মাঝে পার্থক্য বিধানকারী। কাজেই তোমাদের মধ্যে যে লোক এ মাসটি পাবে, সে এ মাসের রোযা রাখবে। আর যে লোক অসুস্থ কিংবা মুসাফির অবস্থায় থাকবে সে অন্য দিনে গণনা পূরণ করবে। আল্লাহ তোমাদের জন্য সহজ করতে চান; তোমাদের জন্য জটিলতা কামনা করেন না যাতে তোমরা গণনা পূরণ কর এবং তোমাদের হেদায়েত দান করার দরুন আল্লাহ তা’আলার মহত্ত্ব বর্ণনা কর, যাতে তোমরা কৃতজ্ঞতা স্বীকার কর।”

“(روزوں کا مہینہ) رمضان کا مہینہ (ہے) جس میں قرآن (اول اول) نازل ہوا جو لوگوں کا رہنما ہے اور (جس میں) ہدایت کی کھلی نشانیاں ہیں اور (جو حق و باطل کو) الگ الگ کرنے والا ہے تو جو کوئی تم میں سے اس مہینے میں موجود ہو چاہیئے کہ پورے مہینے کے روزے رکھے اور جو بیمار ہو یا سفر میں ہو تو دوسرے دنوں میں (رکھ کر) ان کا شمار پورا کرلے۔ خدا تمہارے حق میں آسانی چاہتا ہے اور سختی نہیں چاہتا اور (یہ آسانی کا حکم) اس لئے (دیا گیا ہے) کہ تم روزوں کا شمار پورا کرلو اور اس احسان کے بدلے کہ خدا نے تم کو ہدایت بخشی ہے تم اس کو بزرگی سے یاد کر واور اس کا شکر کرو”
