Surah Al-Maidah · Ayah 44

“Lo! We did reveal the Torah, wherein is guidance and a light, by which the prophets who surrendered (unto Allah) judged the Jews, and the rabbis and the priests (judged) by such of Allah's Scripture as they were bidden to observe, and thereunto were they witnesses. So fear not mankind, but fear Me. And My revelations for a little gain. Whoso judgeth not by that which Allah hath revealed: such are disbelievers.”

“It was We who revealed the law (to Moses): therein was guidance and light. By its standard have been judged the Jews, by the prophets who bowed (as in Islam) to Allah's will, by the rabbis and the doctors of law: for to them was entrusted the protection of Allah's book, and they were witnesses thereto: therefore fear not men, but fear me, and sell not my signs for a miserable price. If any do fail to judge by (the light of) what Allah hath revealed, they are (no better than) Unbelievers.”

“Indeed, We sent down the Torah, in which was guidance and light. The prophets who submitted [to Allah] judged by it for the Jews, as did the rabbis and scholars by that with which they were entrusted of the Scripture of Allah, and they were witnesses thereto. So do not fear the people but fear Me, and do not exchange My verses for a small price. And whoever does not judge by what Allah has revealed - then it is those who are the disbelievers.”

“আমি তওরাত অবর্তীর্ন করেছি। এতে হেদায়াত ও আলো রয়েছে। আল্লাহর আজ্ঞাবহ পয়গম্বর, দরবেশ ও আলেমরা এর মাধ্যমে ইহুদীদেরকে ফয়সালা দিতেন। কেননা, তাদেরকে এ খোদায়ী গ্রন্থের দেখাশোনা করার নির্দেশ দেয়া হয়েছিল এবং তাঁরা এর রক্ষণাবেক্ষণে নিযুক্ত ছিলেন। অতএব, তোমরা মানুষকে ভয় করো না এবং আমাকে ভয় কর এবং আমার আয়াত সমূহের বিনিময়ে স্বল্পমূল্যে গ্রহণ করো না, যেসব লোক আল্লাহ যা অবতীর্ণ করেছেন, তদনুযায়ী ফায়সালা করে না, তারাই কাফের।”

“بیشک ہم نے توریت نازل فرمائی جس میں ہدایت اور روشنی ہے اسی کے مطابق انبیاء جو (خدا کے) فرمانبردار تھے یہودیوں کو حکم دیتے رہے ہیں اور مشائخ اور علماء بھی کیونکہ وہ کتاب خدا کے نگہبان مقرر کیے گئے تھے اور اس پر گواہ تھے (یعنی حکم الہٰی کا یقین رکھتے تھے) تو تم لوگوں سے مت ڈرنا اور مجھی سے ڈرتے رہنا اور میری آیتوں کے بدلے تھوڑی سی قیمت نہ لینا اور جو خدا کے نازل فرمائے ہوئے احکام کے مطابق حکم نہ دے تو ایسے ہی لوگ کافر ہیں”
