Surah Al-Maidah · Ayah 77

“Say: O People of the Scripture! Stress not in your religion other than the truth, and follow not the vain desires of folk who erred of old and led many astray, and erred from a plain road.”

“Say: "O people of the Book! exceed not in your religion the bounds (of what is proper), trespassing beyond the truth, nor follow the vain desires of people who went wrong in times gone by,- who misled many, and strayed (themselves) from the even way.”

“Say, "O People of the Scripture, do not exceed limits in your religion beyond the truth and do not follow the inclinations of a people who had gone astray before and misled many and have strayed from the soundness of the way."”

“বলুনঃ হে আহলে কিতাবগন, তোমরা স্বীয় ধর্মে অন্যায় বাড়াবাড়ি করো না এবং এতে ঐ সম্প্রদায়ের প্রবৃত্তির অনুসরণ করো না, যারা পূর্বে পথভ্রষ্ট হয়েছে এবং অনেককে পথভ্রষ্ট করেছে। তারা সরল পথ থেকে বিচ্যুত হয়ে পড়েছে।”

“کہو کہ اے اہل کتاب! اپنے دین (کی بات) میں ناحق مبالغہ نہ کرو اور ایسے لوگوں کی خواہشوں کے پیچھے نہ چلو جو (خود بھی) پہلے گمراہ ہوئے اور اَور بھی اکثروں کو گمراہ کر گئے اور سیدھے رستے سے بھٹک گئے”
