Surah Fussilat · Ayah 5

Wa qaaloo quloobunaa feee akinnatim mimmaa tad'oonaaa ilaihi wa feee aazaaninaa waqrunw wa mim baininaa wa bainika bijaabun fa'mal innanaa 'aamiloon

“And they say: Our hearts are protected from that unto which thou (O Muhammad) callest us, and in our ears there is a deafness, and between us and thee there is a veil. Act, then. Lo! we also shall be acting.”

“They say: "Our hearts are under veils, (concealed) from that to which thou dost invite us, and in our ears in a deafness, and between us and thee is a screen: so do thou (what thou wilt); for us, we shall do (what we will!)"”

“And they say, "Our hearts are within coverings from that to which you invite us, and in our ears is deafness, and between us and you is a partition, so work; indeed, we are working."”

“তারা বলে আপনি যে বিষয়ের দিকে আমাদের কে দাওয়াত দেন, সে বিষয়ে আমাদের অন্তর আবরণে আবৃত, আমাদের কর্ণে আছে বোঝা এবং আমাদের ও আপনার মাঝখানে আছে অন্তরাল। অতএব, আপনি আপনার কাজ করুন এবং আমরা আমাদের কাজ করি।”

“اور کہتے ہیں کہ جس چیز کی طرف تم ہمیں بلاتے ہو اس سے ہمارے دل پردوں میں ہیں اور ہمارے کانوں میں بوجھ (یعنی بہراپن) ہے اور ہمارے اور تمہارے درمیان پردہ ہے تو تم (اپنا) کام کرو ہم (اپنا) کام کرتے ہیں”
