Hardship

115 verses

  1. Surah Al-Baqarah · 2This is the Scripture whereof there is no doubt, a guidance unto those who ward off (evil).
  2. Surah Aal ʿImran · 12Say (O Muhammad) unto those who disbelieve: Ye shall be overcome and gathered unto Hell, an evil resting-place.
  3. Surah Al-Maidah · 12Allah made a covenant of old with the Children of Israel and We raised among them twelve chieftains, and Allah said: Lo! I am with you. If ye establish worship and pay the poor-due, and believe in My messengers and support them, and lend unto Allah a kindly loan, surely I shall remit your sins, and surely I shall bring you into Gardens underneath which rivers flow. Whoso among you disbelieveth after this will go astray from a plain road.
  4. Surah Al-Anam · 5And they denied the truth when it came unto them. But there will come unto them the tidings of that which they used to deride.
  5. Surah Al-Anam · 6See they not how many a generation We destroyed before them, whom We had established in the earth more firmly than We have established you, and We shed on them abundant showers from the sky, and made the rivers flow beneath them. Yet we destroyed them for their sins, and created after them another generation.
  6. Surah Al-Araf · 9And as for those whose scale is light: those are they who lose their souls because they used to wrong Our revelations.
  7. Surah Al-Anfal · 1They ask thee (O Muhammad) of the spoils of war. Say: The spoils of war belong to Allah and the messenger, so keep your duty to Allah, and adjust the matter of your difference, and obey Allah and His messenger, if ye are (true) believers.
  8. Surah Al-Anfal · 4Those are they who are in truth believers. For them are grades (of honour) with their Lord, and pardon, and a bountiful provision.
  9. Surah Al-Anfal · 5Even as thy Lord caused thee (Muhammad) to go forth from thy home with the Truth, and lo! a party of the believers were averse (to it).
  10. Surah Al-Anfal · 15O ye who believe! When ye meet those who disbelieve in battle, turn not your backs to them.
  11. Surah Yunus · 7Lo! those who expect not the meeting with Us but desire the life of the world and feel secure therein, and those who are neglectful of Our revelations,
  12. Surah Yunus · 12And if misfortune touch a man he crieth unto Us, (while reclining) on his side, or sitting or standing, but when We have relieved him of the misfortune he goeth his way as though he had not cried unto Us because of a misfortune that afflicted him. Thus is what they do made (seeming) fair unto the prodigal.
  13. Surah Yusuf · 10One among them said: Kill not Joseph but, if ye must be doing, fling him into the depth of the pit; some caravan will find him.
  14. Surah Ibrahim · 2Allah, unto Whom belongeth whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth. and woe unto the disbelievers from an awful doom;
  15. Surah Ibrahim · 9Hath not the history of those before you reached you: the folk of Noah, and (the tribes of) A'ad and Thamud, and those after them? None save Allah knoweth them. Their messengers came unto them with clear proofs, but they thrust their hands into their mouths, and said: Lo! we disbelieve in that wherewith ye have been sent, and lo! we are in grave doubt concerning that to which ye call us.
  16. Surah Al-Hijr · 14And even if We opened unto them a gate of heaven and they kept mounting through it,
  17. Surah Al-Isra · 9Lo! this Qur'an guideth unto that which is straightest, and giveth tidings unto the believers who do good works that theirs will be a great reward.
  18. Surah Al-Kahf · 4And to warn those who say: Allah hath chosen a son,
  19. Surah Al-Kahf · 5(A thing) whereof they have no knowledge, nor (had) their fathers, Dreadful is the word that cometh out of their mouths. They speak naught but a lie.
  20. Surah Al-Kahf · 14And We made firm their hearts when they stood forth and said: Our Lord is the Lord of the heavens and the earth. We cry unto no Allah beside Him, for then should we utter an enormity.

  22. Surah Ta Ha · 3But as a reminder unto him who feareth,
  23. Surah Ta Ha · 9Hath there come unto thee the story of Moses?
  24. Surah Al-Anbiya · 13(But it was said unto them): Flee not, but return to that (existence) which emasculated you and to your dwellings, that ye may be questioned.
  25. Surah Al-Hajj · 6That is because Allah, He is the Truth and because He quickeneth the dead, and because He is Able to do all things;

  27. Surah An-Nur · 13Why did they not produce four witnesses? Since they produce not witnesses, they verily are liars in the sight of Allah.
  28. Surah Ash-Shuara · 2These are revelations of the Scripture that maketh plain.
  29. Surah Ash-Shuara · 9And lo! thy Lord! He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful.
  30. Surah An-Naml · 13But when Our tokens came unto them, plain to see, they said: This is mere magic,

  32. Surah Ar-Rum · 4Within ten years - Allah's is the command in the former case and in the latter - and in that day believers will rejoice
  33. Surah Ar-Rum · 5In Allah's help to victory. He helpeth to victory whom He will. He is the Mighty, the Merciful.
  34. Surah Ar-Rum · 13There will be none to intercede for them of those whom they made equal with Allah. And they will reject their partners (whom they ascribed unto Him).

  36. Surah As-Sajdah · 3Or say they: He hath invented it? Nay, but it is the Truth from thy Lord, that thou mayst warn a folk to whom no warner came before thee, that haply they may walk aright.
  37. Surah As-Sajdah · 9Then He fashioned him and breathed into him of His Spirit; and appointed for you hearing and sight and hearts. Small thanks give ye!
  38. Surah Al-Ahzab · 13And when a party of them said: O folk of Yathrib! There is no stand (possible) for you, therefor turn back. And certain of them (even) sought permission of the Prophet, saying: Our homes lie open (to the enemy). And they lay not open. They but wished to flee.
  39. Surah Saba · 6Those who have been given knowledge see that what is revealed unto thee from thy Lord is the truth and leadeth unto the path of the Mighty, the Owner of Praise.
  40. Surah Fatir · 9And Allah it is Who sendeth the winds and they raise a cloud; then We lead it unto a dead land and revive therewith the earth after its death. Such is the Resurrection.
  41. Surah Ya Sin · 13Coin for them a similitude: The people of the city when those sent (from Allah) came unto them;
  42. Surah Sad · 2Nay, but those who disbelieve are in false pride and schism.
  43. Surah Sad · 9Or are theirs the treasures of the mercy of thy Lord, the Mighty, the Bestower?
  44. Surah Az-Zumar · 13Say: Lo! if I should disobey my Lord, I fear the doom of a tremendous Day.
  45. Surah Fussilat · 9Say (O Muhammad, unto the idolaters): Disbelieve ye verily in Him Who created the earth in two Days, and ascribe ye unto Him rivals? He (and none else) is the Lord of the Worlds.
  46. Surah Ash-Shura · 4Unto Him belongeth all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth, and He is the Sublime, the Tremendous.
  47. Surah Ash-Shura · 5Almost might the heavens above be rent asunder while the angels hymn the praise of their Lord and ask forgiveness for those on the earth. Lo! Allah, He is the Forgiver, the Merciful.
  48. Surah Ash-Shura · 14And they were not divided until after the knowledge came unto them, through rivalry among themselves; and had it not been for a Word that had already gone forth from thy Lord for an appointed term, it surely had been judged between them. And those who were made to inherit the Scripture after them are verily in hopeless doubt concerning it.

  50. Surah Ad-Dukhan · 4Whereon every wise command is made clear
  51. Surah Ad-Dukhan · 9Nay, but they play in doubt.
  52. Surah Al-Jathiyah · 11This is guidance. And those who disbelieve the revelations of their Lord, for them there is a painful doom of wrath.
  53. Surah Al-Ahqaf · 15And We have commended unto man kindness toward parents. His mother beareth him with reluctance, and bringeth him forth with reluctance, and the bearing of him and the weaning of him is thirty months, till, when he attaineth full strength and reacheth forty years, he saith: My Lord! Arouse me that I may give thanks for the favour wherewith Thou hast favoured me and my parents, and that I may do right acceptable unto Thee. And be gracious unto me in the matter of my seed. Lo! I have turned unto Thee repentant, and lo! I am of those who surrender (unto Thee).
  54. Surah Al-Fath · 9That ye (mankind) may believe in Allah and His messenger, and may honour Him, and may revere Him, and may glorify Him at early dawn and at the close of day.
  55. Surah Al-Hujurat · 11O ye who believe! Let not a folk deride a folk who may be better than they (are), not let women (deride) women who may be better than they are; neither defame one another, nor insult one another by nicknames. Bad is the name of lewdness after faith. And whoso turneth not in repentance, such are evil-doers.
  56. Surah Qaf · 2Nay, but they marvel that a warner of their own hath come unto them; and the disbelievers say: This is a strange thing:
  57. Surah Qaf · 14And the dwellers in the wood, and the folk of Tubb'a: every one denied their messengers, therefor My threat took effect.

  60. Surah Al-Qamar · 4And surely there hath come unto them news whereof the purport should deter,

  65. Surah Al-Waqiah · 8(First) those on the right hand; what of those on the right hand?
  66. Surah Al-Hadid · 11Who is he that will lend unto Allah a goodly loan, that He may double it for him and his may be a rich reward?
  67. Surah Al-Mujadila · 15Allah hath prepared for them a dreadful doom. Evil indeed is that which they are wont to do.
  68. Surah Al-Mumtahanah · 9Allah forbiddeth you only those who warred against you on account of religion and have driven you out from your homes and helped to drive you out, that ye make friends of them. Whosoever maketh friends of them - (All) such are wrong-doers.
  69. Surah As-Saff · 14O ye who believe! Be Allah's helpers, even as Jesus son of Mary said unto the disciples: Who are my helpers for Allah? They said: We are Allah's helpers. And a party of the Children of Israel believed, while a party disbelieved. Then We strengthened those who believed against their foe, and they became the uppermost.
  70. Surah Al-Jumuah · 2He it is Who hath sent among the unlettered ones a messenger of their own, to recite unto them His revelations and to make them grow, and to teach them the Scripture and wisdom, though heretofore they were indeed in error manifest,
  71. Surah At-Taghabun · 7Those who disbelieve assert that they will not be raised again. Say (unto them, O Muhammad): Yea, verily, by my Lord! ye will be raised again and then ye will be informed of what ye did; and that is easy for Allah.
  72. Surah At-Taghabun · 11No calamity befalleth save by Allah's leave. And whosoever believeth in Allah, He guideth his heart. And Allah is Knower of all things.
  73. Surah At-Talaq · 11A messenger reciting unto you the revelations of Allah made plain, that He may bring forth those who believe and do good works from darkness unto light. And whosoever believeth in Allah and doeth right, He will bring him into Gardens underneath which rivers flow, therein to abide for ever. Allah hath made good provision for him.
  74. Surah At-Tahrim · 4If ye twain turn unto Allah repentant, (ye have cause to do so) for your hearts desired (the ban); and if ye aid one another against him (Muhammad) then lo! Allah, even He, is his Protecting Friend, and Gabriel and the righteous among the believers; and furthermore the angels are his helpers.
  75. Surah At-Tahrim · 5It may happen that his Lord, if he divorce you, will give him in your stead wives better than you, submissive (to Allah), believing, pious, penitent, devout, inclined to fasting, widows and maids.
  76. Surah Al-Mulk · 11So they acknowledge their sins; but far removed (from mercy) are the dwellers in the flames.
  77. Surah Al-Qalam · 1Nun. By the pen and that which they write (therewith),
  78. Surah Al-Qalam · 3And lo! thine verily will be a reward unfailing.
  79. Surah Al-Qalam · 14It is because he is possessed of wealth and children
  80. Surah Al-Maarij · 8The day when the sky will become as molten copper,
  81. Surah Nuh · 11He will let loose the sky for you in plenteous rain,
  82. Surah Al-Jinn · 13And when we heard the guidance, we believed therein, and whoso believeth in his Lord, he feareth neither loss nor oppression.
  83. Surah Al-Muddaththir · 2Arise and warn!
  84. Surah Al-Muddaththir · 7For the sake of thy Lord, be patient!
  85. Surah Al-Qiyamah · 10On that day man will cry: Whither to flee!
  86. Surah Al-Insan · 14The shade thereof is close upon them and the clustered fruits thereof bow down.

  110. Surah Al-Qariah · 7He will live a pleasant life.
  111. Surah At-Takathur · 5Nay, would that ye knew (now) with a sure knowledge!
  112. Surah Al-Humazah · 2Who hath gathered wealth (of this world) and arranged it.
  113. Surah Al-Humazah · 6(It is) the fire of Allah, kindled,
  114. Surah Al-Fil · 4Which pelted them with stones of baked clay,
  115. Surah An-Nasr · 2And thou seest mankind entering the religion of Allah in troops,
